Good-Bye Chief Fleischhauer! Congratulations!

After leading the Vernon Hills Police Department for seventeen years, Chief Mark Fleischhauer has begun a new chapter in his life. At a ceremony held on June 1, the Village of Vernon Hills officially said good-bye to retiring Chief Mark Fleischhauer.

Well over a hundred people, including family, friends and coworkers (both past and present) were there to thank Chief Fleischhauer for his seventeen years of service to the residents and businesses of Vernon Hills. Chief Fleischhauer's last official Village Board meeting was on Tuesday, June 6. At that meeting, Village President Roger Byrne read a proclamation in his honor highlighting the seemingly endless list of contributions that Chief Fleischhauer has made to the community.

Chief, thank you for not only your contributions to Vernon Hills, but also for your lifelong commitment to the law enforcement profession. We wish you nothing but the best.

Congratulations!
