The 2008 Street Rehabilitation Project includes streets within New Century Town and Westwood Subdivision consistent with map below. The improvements will be significant including rehabilitation of the roadway, curbs and sidewalks. We understand that this project will cause inconveniences and staff has met with the post office, recycling/garbage collectors, police and fire officials and other agencies to ensure the quickest and most effective project.
The streets in New Century Town will be completed first and then the project will move into the Westwood Umbrella Subdivision.

8/29/2008 Update for the week of September 2nd
NCT 3 – Road Repairs are complete and the contractor is working on final punchlist items and landscape restoration.
NCT 2 & 1 – During the week of Sept 2nd, the contractor will finish the roadways and start with final punchlist items and landscape restoration.
We would like to thank all the residents of NCT 1, 2 and 3 and the HOA for your cooperation and patience during the construction.
Westwood Umbrella Association: The contractor is currently removing the curbs, gutter, sidewalks and driveway aprons on Creekside Drive. Starting Tuesday, September 2nd the contractor will start with Phase I with removing the curds, gutters, and driveway aprons. Arrangements have been made to have trash and recycle picked up between 6:00 an 7:00 AM. As the contractor will start working at 7:00 AM. Phase I Residents; Please have your vehicles out of your driveways by 7:00 AM on Tuesday. When the barricades have been removed you may use your driveways.

8/18/08 For the week of 18 Aug 08
The contractor will start Tuesday morning (8/19) with asphalt paving in NCT 3 moving to NCT 2 and then NCT 1. There may be some delays within the subdivisions in order to finish the paving of Hawthorn Parkway and Aspen Drive before the start of school. The contractor will also continue to do general clean up and start the driveway replacements tentatively Wednesday morning. All work is contingent upon the weather.
NOTICE: During the placement of the asphalt, the "gravel ramp" to your driveway will be removed, please look before backing out. Contractors are on site to assist you if necessary.
Westwood Umbrella Association: The contractors in tentatively scheduled to be in your area on Monday – watch for the notices to be placed on your garage doors.
Updated 8/08/08 Through Monday, August 18th
NCT #1, 2 & 3 The contractor will continue to prepare the subgrade and subbase for the placement of the first course of asphalt. Tentatively, the asphalt paving is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, August 12th in NCT 3, then NCT 2 and continuosly working into NCT 1 and finally Hawthorn Parkway and Aspen Drive. They will also continue to close up curb and sidewalk gaps throughout the area. There may be delays during the placement of asphalt so residents are encouraged to park on the streets or in the school parkinglots during the day. During the placement of asphalt, oil may be placed on the streets so please DRIVE SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY. All construcion is contingent upon the weather.
Westwood Umbrella Association: The contactor will not be starting in the Westwood subdivision due to delays to meet the school schedules. We apologize for this delay and appreciate your patience during the construction. Residents may park in there driveways and will received written notices posted on garage doors 48 hours prior to commencement of work. Please continue to check back for more information.
Update for New Century Town 8/05/2008
The contractor will be working in all three subdivisions for the next two weeks in order to complete the project for school opening. Residents are encouraged to park on West End, Indianwood and the school parking lots while the pavement is being removed and replaced.
Update for Westwood Umbrella Association 8/05/2008
Westwood Umbrella Association: The contactor will not be starting in the Westwood subdivision for another 10 to 14 days. We apologize for this delay and appreciate your patience during the construction. UPDATE 8/1/08 and thru the week of August 4th
Work in NCT #1, 2 & 3 will continue with pavement removal.
Westwood Umbrella Association - The contractor will start removing the curbs and gutters on Saturday, August 2nd along Creekside Drive . Phase I residents should start making alternate parking arrangments starting Monday, August 4th. After the curbs and gutters have been replaced and the barricades have been removed from your dirveways, residents may once again park in the driveways.
UPDATE 7/30/08 and thru the week of August 4th
NCT #1, 2 & 3 – Removal of the existing pavement will begin on Thursday, Jul 31st.
During the day time hours while the contractor is working, residents may encounter delays or limited access to their driveways. Residents are encouraged to park on West End, Indianwood and the school parking lots while the pavement is being removed and replaced. There will be access to driveways during the evening hours. This work will continue through Saturday and into the week of August 4th.
Westwood Umbrella Association - As of Friday, August 1st, no parking will be allowed on either side of Creekside from Butterfield Road to Westwood Court. These parking restrictions will be enforced until further notice.
July 25, 2008 (Update for the week of July 28)
NCT #1, 2, 3 and Hawthorn Parkway and Aspen Drive - The contractor will be replacing the drainage structures and continue to fill in the curb & sidewalk gaps.
PLEASE CHECK BACK MID WEEK AS THIS IS A TENTATIVE SCHEDULE AND MAY CHANGE TO INCLUDE THE REMOVAL OF THE EXISTING ASPHALT PAVEMENT.
RESIDENTS SHOULD NOT PARK IN THE ROADWAYS AND CONTINUE TO USE THEIR DRIVEWAYS.
Westwood Umbrella Association - Due to equipment delays the contractor will begin late next week on Creekside and work their way into the Westwood subdivision by removing curbs and gutters. Residents should watch for notice posted on garage doors pertaining to the removal of cars from garages and driveways. Parking will be allowed on both sides of Sullivan Drive.
Do not park in crosswalks, at corners or in front of hydrants.

Updates 7/17/08
No Parking signs have been placed along Hawthorn Parkway & Apsen Drive from Butterfield to Oakwood. The contractor is removing the curbs and gutters in this area over the weekend and through next week. DO NOT park on these roads, please park in your driveways or in the the school parking lots. This NO PARKING ban will be strictly enforced.

NCT #1, 2 & 3 - The contractor will continue to replace missing sidewalks, curbs and drainage structures throught the week.
Hawthorn Pkwy & Aspen Drive: The contractor is removing and replacing all curbs and gutters along these roads throughout the week.
Westwood Umbrella & Creekside: Work in your area will start the week of July 28th.
Update 7/10/2008 (For the week of July 14)
NCT #1 Phase 2 - Phase 2 will begin on Monday with removal and replacement of the curbs, gutters and driveways. Please park along Hawthorn Parkway or Indianwood Drive.
NCT #2 & 3 Phase 1 & 2 - All of the concrete work will be completed this week. You may park in your driveways if the barricades have been removed. By the end of the week all residents should be parking in their driveways.
NOTE: Hawthorn Parkway between Butterfield Road and Indianwood Drive and portions of Aspen Drive will be resurfaced and the curbs and gutters will be replaced. After the week of July 14th "NO PARKING" signs will be placed on both sides of Hawthorn Parkway and residents should be using their driveways and the school parking lots. This will be enforced due to heavy traffic and the safety of the construction workers.
Westwood Umbrella & Creekside Drive - The contractor should be starting in your area within the next two weeks.
Update 7/01/2008 (For the week of July 7th)
NCT #1 - The contractor will continue to do concrete replacement work on Phase 1.
NCT #2 & 3 Phase 2 - The contractor will be removing sidewalks, curbs and driveway aprons beginning Monday morning. Please park on Hawthorn Parkway, West End or at the schools. NCT #2 & 3 Phase 1 residents will have access to their driveways and garages on Thursday.
The original tentative dates are no longer applicable. Due to additional contractor staff, good weather and the residents cooperation the project is well ahead of schedule. We thank you for your patience and assistance.
Westwood Umbrella & Creekside Drive - The contractor will be distributing notices on Monday, July 7th with more information for the work in your area.
Update 6/27/2008
Sidewalk, curb and gutter removal is now ongoing in NCT 1, 2 & 3 and will continue through next week. The contractor will also be working on filling in the gaps between the new curb and existing pavement. For those with new curbs already poured, they will be placing stone behind the curb within the driveway aprons. When the barricades are removed from the driveway aprons, you will be able to pull you car into the garage.
The contractor will be working next week to close up as many wholes as possible so that you may enjoy your 4th of July weekend. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Lisa at 847-918-3562. Thank you for your patience.
IF THE BARRICADES ARE STILL IN FRONT OF THE DRIVEWAY PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THEM AND DO NOT DRIVE ACROSS THE NEW CONCRETE.
Update 6/26/2008
NCT 3 Phase I – Replacement of curb/gutter and sidewalks should be completed by end of the week.
NCT 2 Phase I – All curbs/gutters and sidewalks have beenremoved and should be poured and completed by Monday.
NCT 1 Phase I – Removal of curb/gutters should start on Monday
Do not drive on curb/gutter and sidewalks until barricades removed. All work is contingent upon weather conditions.
UPDATE 6/25/08:
For the duration of the project Waste Management and Veolia Recycling will be picking up trash/recycle prior to 7:00AM to prevent the conflict with construction equipment.
The contractor expects to work quickly and since the streets are narrow, alternate parking for residents is available in the Hawthorn School parking lots; on the west side of Indianwood and on Hawthorn Parkway (north side for phase 1, and south side for phase 2). The contractor will be able to provide access to your driveway and garage once the curb and gutter has been replaced. Temporary stone ramps will be provided to those with special needs. Mail delivery and trash pickup arrangements are being made and you will be made aware of the arrangements as soon as possible. 48 hours advance notice will be given in the event that access into the driveways is not possible. Signs will be posted limiting parking on streets and guest parking as necessary. The Police Department has been notified to temporarily rescind the overnight parking restrictions on the side streets.
The contractor will begin concrete removal of the phase 1 streets beginning Monday June 23rd and expects to complete the concrete work the week of July 11th before moving to the phase 2 portions from July 14th to August 2nd. After all the concrete work has been completed the removal and replacement of the asphalt pavement will begin and is expected to last a few weeks. Please note these are tentative dates and may change.
WESTWOOD UMBRELLA SUBDIVISION:
Residents will be notified when a date has been set for construction to start.
