April 30th, Birthday Party - To celebrate her birthday, Linda's daughter will be providing pizza for the group. The "Harmonizers," Lucy & Shirley will perform for us.
Starting on May 14th - "TAKE CONTROL WITH EXERCISE" is a program of exercises for those with arthritis. The sign up sheet in on the board. The fee is $10 which will be returned to those who participate in 10 sessions.
May 16th - Gloria will be starting a once-a-month discussion on current events. The program will take place the 3rd Friday @ 11:00 AM.
May 17th - Saturday, the Vernon Hills Springfest will be held at the Metra Station. We will be serving coffee with flavored cream this year. We really need volunteers this year. Please see Ed or Svea Tracy.
May 27th - "MEDIEVAL TIMES - DINNER AND TOURNAMENT". Cost $20 - check to Vernon Hills Seniors is due no later than May 9th. Give check to Svea Tracy. Signup sheet on the board; please indicate if you need a vegetarian meal. Bus will leave from the Parking lot across the street from the Village Hall @ 9:30 AM.
May 28th Birthday Party - Marian from the Chicago Botanic Garden will present slides on shrubs, perennials and annuals to plant in order to attract birds and butterflies.
May 29th 11:30 - 1:30 AM - Luncheon at the Arbortheater to benefit the American Cancer Society. Cost is $5.00 for the lunch and there will be booths for $10 haircuts and $3 photos.
May 30th, 9:00 -10:00 AM -Pool exercise will begin over the Memorial Day weekend at the outdoor pool on Coventry at New Century Town Homes and will continue every Friday until Labor Day weekend.
REMINDER: Please sign up for the Savannah Trip. $75 is due upon signup. The rest of the total $510 will be due by July 11, 2008. Please give checks made out to "Diamond Tours" to Adrian.
VERNON HILLS SENIORS BUS PROGRAM:
To schedule an Appointment for the Seniors Bus call 847-367-3700. The Seniors Bus operates Monday thru Friday and you must call schedule your pick up 24 hours in advance (Friday for a Monday pick up). You do not need to be a member of the Vernon Hills Seniors Organization to utilize the Seniors Bus.

SENIORS RIDE FREE ON METRA, PACE & CTA
Effective March 17th all Seniors over the age of 65 are entitled to ride the METRA, PACE and CTA for free with a RTA Reduced Fare Permit. Seniors may apply for the Reduced Fare Pass at the Village Hall between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM. You must bring a valid state or government issued photo identification card showing their date of birth and a pasport size color photo. The Vernon Hills Walgreens will provide residents a photo at a reduced price of $5.00.
TREASURE NEEDED FOR NEXT TERM
