August 5, 2008 - The number 13 is superstitious to some people, but the 13th Annual National Night Out in Vernon Hills was incredible! An estimated 1,000+ people showed up at Hartmann Park to enjoy free food, free entertainment, volleyball, a pie eating contest, the chance to Dunk a Cop, free Bounce Houses, being sprayed by a fireman's hose, etc., etc., etc.! What an evening!
We also had a silent auction, where people were able to bid on some great prizes. All the money raised will go to the Jesse Goldsmith Scholarship Fund - $1,470! The dunk tank proceeds will also go to this worthy cause - another $150.
There are so many people and businesses to thank that it would take too long to mention them all, but a special thanks to our National Sponsor, Target, for all the donations and help. We hope to see even more people out there next year. Bring it on!
