Our next event is Saturday, September 11 and Sunday, September 12, 2010
2009: What a weekend! 21 Law Enforcement Agencies and related services were on hand to show their stuff. And show they did! Squad cars! 4-wheelers, 6-wheelers, jet skis! Even a boat and a helicopter! Thousands of people were treated to handouts and police memorabilia. See below for pictures of this year's event. None of this would have been possible without the cooperation and generosity of Westfield Hawthorn Mall and General Manager Tim Geiges!
In 2005, we hosted the inaugural Exhibition here in Vernon Hills. The event drew thousands of interested citizens locally and from all around the Chicagoland area. Due to its overwhelming success, Chief Mark Fleischhauer decided to make it an annual event. Furthermore, the event will always be scheduled during the week of September 11th, in order to honor our fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice on that day in 2001.
This Exhibition was set up so police departments can show you the latest and greatest in crime prevention, education and criminal detection. Think of it as one big "open house" where Lake County agencies are present to show you the ins and outs of what the police can do for you - besides writing you a ticket!
For 2009, the following Lake County, Cook County and other agencies were on hand throughout the weekend:
During each Exhibition, there is always ample time to interact with police officers, climb through and on some of the equipment we use, and even witness and/or try out some of the training techniques we use to keep sharp.

- The Illinois Freemasons sponsored a CHild Identification Program event
- Get a thorough child identification kit to protect your child!
- Specialized vehicles and PLENTY of police give-aways!
So make sure you come out to Westfield Hawthorn mall on the weekend of September 11-12, 2010 to check out the fun and interactive demonstrations we will have ready for you to experience... you'll never watch a cop show the same way again!
