Diversity & Inclusion Consultancy

On September 1, 2020, the Village Board authorized a consultancy for Ravenskeep, LLC to review Village’s policies and procedures that support equal opportunity in the workplace and practices that support diversity and inclusion, to better ensure consistency and equity in the delivery of services to the community.  On October 1, 2020, Dr. Bryan Watkins initiated this consultancy.  

The scope of the consultancy includes:

  • An assessment of policies to including Village Personnel Rules/practices, Police Department policy and practices (Lexipol), BOFPC Rules and Regulations, and the Police Department’s Adoption of Shared Principles and engagement strategies 
  • A review of correlations between workforce and community demographics
  • A facilitator to conduct meetings with Village staff regarding community expectations for diversity and inclusion within Village government  
  • A facilitator to support community engagement 
  • The development of a Village Diversity and Inclusion vision statement for Board consideration

 During the update, it was shared the next step in the assessment is community engagement and input.   If persons desire to comment on the Village’s commitment and efforts to ensure consistency and equity in the delivery of services, equal opportunity in the workplace, or have suggestions on improving policy and practices that support diversity and inclusion, please email Dr. Bryan Watkins at ravenskeep1555@gmail.com
