Vernon Hills Achieves Tree City USA Recognition!

The Village of Vernon Hills is classified as a Tree City USA Community, that strives to enhance its reforestation and forestry management policies and practices of existing forest resources year after year by dedicating financial resources over and above the Tree City USA requirements -- in order to bring a strong economic, aesthetic and environmental value to our residents.

Each year, National Arbor Day is observed by the Village on a specific date proclaimed by the Village President.  This year the Village of Vernon Hills will observe Arbor Day on Saturday, May 08, 2021, in which  the Vernon Hills Public Works Department will be planting a tree on the former site of the Larry Laschen Center, adjacent to the Village Hall.   We will not be assembling and celebrating with community groups, but will be continuing our work throughout the year and share more of our efforts to ensure a #beautifulVernonHills.
