Applications for Illinois Homeowner Assistance Funds opened on April 11. Eligible households may apply for up to $30,000 in free assistance to pay past due mortgage payments, property taxes, property insurance and delinquent homeowner/condo association fees.
Part of the grant application process requires working with a HUD-certified Housing Counselor, which will support homeowners not only regarding this grant, but also with other options that may be available.
The IHAF offers a wide variety of resources for renters and homeowners, including credit counseling, utility payment supports, and other resources.
