Weather Alert Sirens

Tornado/Storm Preparedness

As we are now in severe weather season, it is important to be prepared and informed. Please review the following resources for explanation of the weather warning sirens, reverse 911 emergency messages, and general preparedness.

Resources:

  • Weather Alert Sirens – A sustained single tone indicates you should immediately move to shelter due to severe weather
  • Blackboard Connect Messages – Sign up for messages related to local emergencies through the Village's reverse 911 system; Note that you must sign up to receive messages to your cell or email.
  • Ready.gov – A variety of emergency preparedness resources
  • Be Weather Aware web post
