The Village and American Legion Post 1247 are looking to honor residents who have honorably served or continue to serve our nation in any military capacity. Each year, we will create photo banners that will appear on light poles around the Village.

The process has no fee to the families, and requires only a photo, name, rank and branch of service. 

Service members, their families or others may nominate a person.  Loved ones are encouraged to honor local heroes who served in earlier years and who have now passed. The program is available to all who live or have lived in Vernon Hills at some point.
