It's time for all of us to get back into the school routine!
Even if we don't have children attending classes, we all need to be mindful to protect kids walking to and from school, waiting at bus stops, and riding the bus.
Remember, when a bus is stoped with red lights activated and stop arm out, in general all vehicles must stop - and we all must watch for kids to enter or to exit and begin their walk home. Yes, if there are more than two lanes and you are coming toward the bus from the other direction, you may keep driving - but please do so with caution.
School zones are slower. Watch for direction from crossing - they are in charge. Stay off cell phones - even blue tooth connected phones are a distraction. Scan for children (and all people) at crosswalks, between cars or on sidewalks as sometimes kids, especially our youngest residents, make sudden moves.
