Senior Taxi Program

Are you 62 years old and have limited access to transportation? The Village manages a Senior Tax Program in which you receive up to $96 in taxi rides on a monthly basis.  The program allows seniors to take 16 rides per month at $6.00 per ride.  For more information on the program check out our website at https://www.vernonhills.org/896/11621/Senior-Taxi-Program.

Vernon Township Outreach

Vernon Township offers several programs throughout the year to lend a hand. Sponsor-A-Family programs include Thanksgiving dinners (November), holiday gifts (December), and school supplies (July). If you wish to help with a sponsorship, or if you are in need, please contact Township Caseworker Nancy Urice at 847-634-4600 or Nancy@vernontownship.com. The Vernon Township Food Pantry has also published their Fall Wish List – which includes items such as mac & cheese, boxed potatoes, soups and more. 

Help Keep Sidewalks & Paths Clean

Thank you to residents who live adjacent to sidewalks and bike paths for helping keep trees and bushes trimmed back. This becomes even more important as students are walking to school – and all of us are enjoying these last weeks of beautiful weather before winter. In fact, Ordinance (Sec. 23-33) states that residents are expected to keep trees, bushes and other vegetation trimmed back so not only are sidewalks easy and safe to use, but also so that traffic signs and street lights are kept visible. Please help keep our neighborhoods and neighbors safe.
