Vernon Hills 2017 OktoberfestThe 13th Annual Oktoberfest will be held on September 23, 2017 at the Vernon Hills Metra Station, located on U.S. Route 45.
Free kids crafts, while supplies last. Free pumpkins to paint, while supplies last, The free hay ride is sponsored by the Vernon Hills Park District.
Food will be prepared and sold by your local nonprofit organization. Beer (Blue Moon, Miller Lite and Miller MGD), coffee, pop, and water will also be served.
The Cook Memorial Library District will have the "Book Mobil" available on site and the Lincolnshire/Riverwoods Fire Protection District will have fire trucks on display for the kids.

Village Wide Fundraiser for Harvey & Irma VictimsThe recent hurricanes in Texas and Florida impacted thousands homes and has devastated coastal cities. As a way to show support for the victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, Vernon Hills will provide a matching donation of up to $5,000 to the American Red Cross. Donation buckets will be available at Village Hall as well as at our annual Oktoberfest on September 23, 2017. Donations can be received at Village Hall (290 Evergreen) during business hours (8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. M-F) or by mail. If mailing a donation, please address the check to the American Red Cross and send to: Village of Vernon Hills Attn: Hurricane Relief 290 Evergreen Drive Vernon Hills, IL 60061 We will accept donations until October 11, 2017. There are a large number of charitable organizations that are seeking to provide aid. The Village encourages residents to view the following document for a list of such organizations as well as fema.gov/volunteer-donate-responsibly to learn how to donate responsibly.
