Foundation gala raises record-setting amount, helping students get ‘Off to a Grand Start on the Road to Success’
More than 200 friends of the College of Lake County Foundation came out to support student scholarships Oct. 28 at the Drake Hotel in Chicago. The gala raised a record $280,000 – breaking the currently held record amount by over $30,000 – with proceeds from the event benefitting CLC scholarships and grants. For details, visit

CLC updates security procedures, hours at Lakeshore Campus parking ramp
As part of enhanced security measures, the College of Lake County parking garage at the Lakeshore Campus in Waukegan has been enclosed and will be locked overnight, with new hours and parking procedures effective 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17. Read more at

CLC’s green efforts ranked in top 10 by national sustainability organization
The College of Lake County has made the list of overall “top performer” schools in environmental sustainability, placing eighth among two-year colleges in North America, according to a report released Nov. 6 by the Philadelphia-based Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education. The rating marks the fourth time in 18 months that the college has been recognized nationally for its sustainable efforts. For details, visit

Dec. 1-2: CLC presents Winter Dance Concert

Dec. 4-5: Shop at CLC’s Holiday Gift and Craft Fair
The College of Lake County is hosting its second Holiday Gift and Craft Fair, Monday, Dec. 4 and Tuesday, Dec. 5 at the Grayslake Campus, 19351 W. Washington St. Fair hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Vendors will sell items such as artisan soaps, holiday treats, jewelry, candles, origami, gourmet food, beauty products, scarves and much more. Dec. 17: Dan Zanes: Holiday Sing-Along rings in the season
In two sensory-friendly and festive holiday shows at the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts at the College of Lake County on Sunday, Dec. 17, Grammy Award-winning artist Dan Zanes, along with Claudia Eliaza and Pauline Jean, will create a relaxed, inclusive and sensory-friendly song-and-dance party designed to entertain families and/or children with autism or other special needs.  All are welcome. Find out more at
