VHHS Winter Concert

Thursday, December 7 at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $2 students $3 adults at the door.

The December Band concert will be on Thursday, December 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the VHHS auditorium. There will be a mix of classical band literature and holiday favorites. The concert and symphonic bands will get together for one piece, Lightning Field by John Mackey. The Wind Ensemble is playing a piece, Niagara Falls by Michael Daugherty that features all sections of the band in a tour of the Niagara River towards the falls.

17th Annual Holiday Concert

In 2 weeks our Orchestra and Choral Students will be performing many classic holiday songs during the 17th Annual Holiday Concert. This concert is designed to not only provide wonderful music but also as a way to collect food products for our local food pantry. Please come out and join us on this evening of fun!

VHHS Presents the 17th Annual Holiday Concert featuring the Symphony Orchestra and Choirs on December 14, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale now online: https://search.seatyourself.biz/webstore/accounts/vhhscougars/buy-tickets?d=1&event=. 50% of all ticket proceeds will be donated to the Vernon Township Food Pantry. Non-perishable food and cash donations will be collected at the door.
The VHHS Symphony Orchestra and Choirs will give audiences a sneak peek of their Spring performance of the Lord Nelson Mass as they offer a small sampling of what's to come. Audiences will be invited to channel their Viennese spirit as they enjoy a stirring performance of Johann Strauss' Radetzky March. The traditional performance of Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus" paired with Leroy Anderson's "Sleigh Ride", under falling snow no less, will undoubtedly fill the hearts of our audiences with the joy of the holidays.
Additionally, the choirs will present 19th-century English composer Edward Elgar's lovely work entitled "The Snow," scored for Treble Choir and two violins. The Concert Choir will sing 20th-century American composer Samuel Barber's "Sure On This Shining Night," while the Bass Choir will sing a contemporary arrangement of "We Three Kings" and the ever-popular Jose Feliciano hit, "Feliz Navidad."
