Please help those in need by donating non-perishable food products, household and personal items to the Vernon/Libertyville Township Food Pantry

VERNON HILLS “COP ON ROOFTOP” TO SUPPORT SPECIAL OLYMPICS

On Friday, May 17, 2019, from 5:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m., patrons of the Dunkin’ Donuts at the Hawthorn Hills Shopping Center at Routes 60 & 21 will be greeted by Vernon Hills Police officers waving from the roof in order to raise money and awareness for a great cause.  It’s all part of the 17^th annual Cop on Rooftop event to raise money for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

The A Cappella Concert will be Thursday, May 16 at 8:00 pm in the VHHS Studio Theater, immediately after the Art Show. This show features both VHHS a cappella groups Love Notes and VoiceMale. Come experience full choreography, vocal percussion, and amazing harmonies from songs like Jolene, I Will Survive, Hit Me Baby One More Time, Billie Jean, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, and Black Horse and Cherry Tree. Free admission!

The VHHS Student Art Show will open with the public reception on Thursday May 16, 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the VHHS lobby. AP Portfolio students will begin setting up their art booths Monday May 13 and their artwork will be on view all week. Every VHHS art student will have multiple works on display from Thursday afternoon through Friday May 17 at 1:00 p.m. All are welcome!

VERNON TOWNSHIP’S 11TH ANNUAL COMMUNITY GARAGE SALE
WHEN: Saturday, June 8, 2019 (Rain or Shine)
TIME: 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. - (Set-up starts at 7:00 a.m.)
Vernon Township will be hosting the 11th Annual Community Garage Sale in the west parking lot of the Prairie View Train Station. The township will be selling spaces (16 ft x 17 ft) for $25.00. The proceeds from the sale of spaces benefit the Vernon Township Food Pantry Inc. Crafters are welcome to participate.
Applications are available at the Vernon Township Administration Building or online at www.vernontownship.com. Spaces are available on a first come first serve basis. Spaces may be reserved in person at the township office or, if mailing the application, spaces will be assigned by the township. Everyone is invited to participate, however space is limited so reserve your spaces early. Deadline for reserving a space is May 24th. You will need to bring your own supplies such as tables, chairs, clothes racks and shade screens. Clean up is the responsibility of the space holder at the end of the sale.
