Why use drones?

Drones have been very helpful to Vernon Hills over the years. We use imagery and videos for disaster planning, environmental studies, development inspections, and more. The Vernon Hills drone program has even been showcased in the news.

Who can fly drones for Vernon Hills?

Only Village employees who are licensed by the FAA can fly drones. You can review our drone policy every employee must sign before taking flight. All Village drone operators must pass the FAA drone test, and re-take/pass it every two years.
