On Sunday, December 14, 2025, 50 youths participated in the 10th annual Cops & Kids event. In many communities this program is known as Shop With A Cop. For this year's event, officers from the Libertyville police department joined us as well as officers from Bannockburn PD, College of Lake County PD, Lincolnshire PD, and Lake County Sheriff's department.
It was a great day for everyone! The children were taken to Walmart where each child was treated to a $150 shopping spree while accompanied by a police officer. As you can imagine, hosting 50 children and their families takes a lot of personnel. Successfully pulling off such an event would not be possible without the cooperation of many businesses, volunteers and, of course, police officers. Thank you to the many police officers, family members, coworkers, Village Hall employees, Hawthorn School District 73, Libertyville School District 70 and especially the VH Public Works employees for decorating their facilities. Without the help of these volunteers this event wouldn't be possible.
