Notary Service
Very limited notary service is available at Village Hall, and provided as a convenience, only. Please reach out to the Village by calling 847-367-3700 to confirm availability of service prior to visiting.
- A limited number of staff have the ability to notarize documents, and are available to assist only as their time is available
- Staff are NOT able to notarize documents related to property transactions, wealth transfers, Village forms, Federal employment eligibility forms, Secretary of State Apostille forms or certified document copies
- Do not sign documents prior to having them notarized; Documents must be signed in the presence of the notary officer as well as a signing witness
- You must provide your own witness; The Village cannot provide a signing witness for your document
- All individuals signing documents (person making request and witness) must provide valid, current, signed driver's license/state ID
- Documents being presented to the notary must be in a language the notary can read, and be fully completed

Other notary options are available locally, and may include any of the following:

- Banks – Banks will generally provide notary service to their customers
- Shipping and Mailing Stores – Businesses including UPS and FedEx may provide notary services for a fee; The US Post Office does not provide notary service
- Township Offices – Vernon Township and Libertyville Township offices may provide limited notary service based on availability of staff and type of document being notarized
- Libraries – Some local libraries offer limited notary service by appointment. Check with your local branch. Cook Memorial's Aspen Drive Library in Vernon Hills and Ela Area Public Library in Lake Zurich are potential options.
